About the Therapist & Centre
My name is Hilde Van der Weken, I initially graduated as a physiotherapist in Belgium where I also underwent training in osteopathy. After arriving in Switzerland, I worked for many years in the hospital environment as well as in private practice, which enabled me to acquire extensive experience in the field of pain treatment and care.
As I practiced Qi Gong and Tai Chi (Chinese energy gymnastics) and was captivated by their balancing effect on both a mental and physical level, I became increasingly interested in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM).
I trained at the “Europe Shanghai College” in Geneva, which enabled me to undertake a training course in Shanghai in association with the Shanghai University of TCM.
In 2009, I obtained a diploma as a “Doctor in Acupuncture”, issued by the World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies (WOFAS) in formal relationship with the World Health Organization (WHO).
In 2016, I finished the Chinese Herbs Therapy at the TIAN Institute in Bern.
I also supplement my training on a continual basis:
-
2010: Practicum in Diagnosis (Lyon), Needle techniques (Paris)
-
2011: The Pulse in TCM (Geneva), Psycho-emotional Disharmonies in TCM (Lucerne)
-
2012: Dermatological Treatment in TCM (Lyon)
-
2013: Gynaecology in TCM (Lyon), Wanting a Child and Fertility (Freiburg), Naturopathic gynaecology (Sion)
-
2014: Current training: TCM Specialist in Reproductive Medicine (Winterthur)
-
2015-2016 : Chinese herb therapy (Bern)
Since 2013, I have also been practicing as a member of the multidisciplinary team at the Centre for Medically Assisted Procuration (CPMA) in Lausanne which provides treatment for fertility-related issues.
I speak French, English, German, Swiss German and Dutch.
I am fascinated by Traditional Chinese Medicine and its philosophical approach, and I am delighted to be able to give my patients the opportunity to discover its benefits.
